AEG - acronym for Automatic Electric Gun (AEG). It is a type of airsoft gun
that is electrically powered. The gearbox is driven by an electrical motor
which is powered by a rechargeable battery pack. 'AEG' is widely synonymous
with 'airsoft rifle'.

Airsoft - is a modern combat sport or recreational hobby in which participants
eliminate opponents by hitting each other with 6mm (or sometimes 8mm) plastic
ball bearings (BB's), launched from airsoft guns, that can be powered by gas,
spring, or electricly powered gearboxes. (

Airsoft Gun - a spring, electric, or gas powered air gun that fires small
spherical plastic pellets (BB's)of either 6mm or 8mm diameter. This is the tool/weapon
that is used to play an airsoft game. (

BB - acronym for ball bearing -- specifically related to airsoft it
refers to a round ball of plastic that is fired as a projectile from
an airsoft gun. The most common size is 6mm (as measured by its diameter), but
some manufacturers also produce 8mm. The actual size of a 6mm BB is just under
6mm, closer to 5.98mm. BB's come in various massses ranging from 0.12g to
0.32g+. The 0.20g is widely used and often used for measuring an airsoft gun's
energy.

Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) - in the United States was the standard
military uniform worn into combat, battledress as opposed to 'display'
dress uniforms worn at parades and functions. BDU's may be either plain
fatigues or in camouflage colors. Color and patterns vary but airsoft teams
usually wear similar BDU's into battle. (

Callsign - In broadcasting and radio communications, a call sign
(aka callsign or call letters, or abbr. as a call) is a unique
designation for a transmitting station. A call sign is often informally
adopted by individuals or organizations to disguise a station's
identity. (

Camouflage - aka cryptic coloration or concealing coloration,
allows an otherwise visible organism or object to remain indiscernible
from the surrounding environment. Examples include a tiger's stripes
and the BDU's of a modern soldier. Camouflage is a form of deception. (

Clone - a copy or exact replica of all or part of something. Clones
are cheaper items, normally guns, that have been manufactured to nearly
identical of that of the high-end brand they are cloning. Most clones are
Chinese-made. The gun may appear to be the same as the gun they imitate,
but the parts are cheaper and made with less precision. They do not
always disassemble precisely like the orginal gun and therefore
replacement parts are not always compatible.

CQB/CQC - acronyms: Close Quarters Battle (CQB) / Close Quarters Combat (CQC).
Both are defined as short duration, high intensity conflict, characterized by
sudden violence at close range. Engagement ranges are short, usually under 30 feet.
Often this is synonymous with indoor airsoft skirmishing. In these types of battles
the fps is limited to a max of 300 - 350. Full face masks are required more often
in these types of events. (
